Years in the Making

Now that the book is available in several e-book formats I feel a bit of weight lifting off of my shoulders. When the Dead has been on my ‘to-do’ list for years. Or rather, I’ve been doing it for years, working at it, honing the story, developing the characters. I looked through my old files yesterday and I have documents dating back to 2006 that look nothing like what WtD has become but I appreciate them still. Three, four, five variations that didn’t feel right. Characters that were hollow or even ideas that were quickly used by others in popular films or novels before I could get anything out of the door. But all of these iterations played such an important role in showing me what I didn’t want to write or publish. They all gave an important piece to the final novel.

I’m excited to see where this book goes. After spending so much time with something and developing it, I want people to read my ideas. I want people to tell me how they envision the characters to look after I myself have spent so much time with those characters in the movie of my mind.

What is next for WtD? I am working with a friend of mine to produce two book trailers to market the story through online video channels. Look for the first before October!
